Scott Murray is the founder and president of Big Deals Media, Inc. Scott developed the Big Deals concept while working first as General Sales Manager and then General Manager for a Minneapolis-St. Paul based radio station group in the 2000’s. He was early to the e-commerce game, and he discovered the power of combining radio with an online shopping marketplace open 24/7 so customers could shop and buy at their convenience. This idea resulted in a substantial addition of local, direct revenue from small businesses in their coverage area and beyond. Advertisers were delighted with their return on their investment his stations provided. As a result of this he founded Big Deals Media in 2010 to bring his solution to other media companies. Today, Big Deals has its solution in over 500 radio and TV stations in over 100 markets, and these companies together generated over $10 Million last year in local direct revenue from their Big Deals stores.
Scott is a veteran of Mass Media. After graduating from Bemidji State University with a degree in Mass Communications in 1987 he jumped right into the professional media world as an account executive for MN Sun Publications, a suburban newspaper chain ringing the MSP metro. From there he has had the opportunity work in sales, sales management and management for some of the best media companies in America including Knight-Ridder Newspapers, ADVO Direct Mail, CBS Television and the MNN Radio Networks.
